Where Will was concerned it could be difficult to tell when he was being serious and when he was making a joke. Lucifer was wise to ignore the suggestion.

Juggling the books in his arms to a more comfortable position, Will gave the situation another peek and then shook his head.

"If it's anything like the mess I've seen in other areas of the castle, your most direct course of action -other than burning the place down- would be to talk to someone in the Silver Court. I have a suspicion they may be able to get to the root of the problem."

Or he may have simply wanted to make a bad pun. The soft-spoken, deadpan tone can make it hard to figure out when he's serious or not.
